If, by chance, you're born into my mother's side of the family, one naturally inherits the ability to cook. If you're me, and you miss out on the culinary gene, there is (thankfully) a family cookbook. Following is my Aunt Linda's recipe for mouth-watering banana nut bread:
Banana Nut Bread
1 stick butter (or margarine)
1 stick butter (or margarine)
7/8 cup sugar
1 egg
3-4 ripe bananas
1-1/2 cup flour
3/4 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
For bread, bake 50-55 minutes at 350 (or until toothpick inserted comes out clean).
For large muffins, bake 15-20 minutes at 350.
For mini-muffins (Ben's favorite), bake 12-15 min at 350.
It's just so simple. It's just so good.
My banana nut bread didn't turn out like that...I simply forgot the nuts...not good without nuts!
